After a two and one-half hour rain delay, the Pittsburg Pirates jumped all over Brewer reliever Rob Scahill for three runs in the fourth inning and went on to shut out Milwaukee 4-0 Friday Night. After three strong innings by starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson, the Brewers had to turn to the bullpen when things went south. Pittsburg added a solo home run by Josh Bell for the final tally in the fifth inning. The Brewers collected seven hits, three by Nick Franklin, but squandered late inning opportunities to get back in the game. The Pirates and Brewers will paly Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. at PNC Park in game two of the three-game series.
