Tied atop the National League Central standings the Milwaukee Brewers have been thee surprise team in the division this year. A ten-inning 7-5 win over St. Louis bumped the ‘Brew Crew’ to (14-13) tied with the Cubs at (13-12).
Monday, Milwaukee rained on the Cardinals parade in the tenth inning by scoring three runs to take the win in game one of the series. Travis Shaw and Jonathan Villar each homered in the win. Zach Davies started on the hill for the Brewers and lasted five innings allowing two earned runs and seven hits.
Only two games separate first and last place in the division after Monday night’s games.
