The Milwaukee Brewers homered in their 12th consecutive game Thursday night. A 7-5 four-game series opening win against the St. Louis Cardinals sent fans away from Miller Park smiling. ‘The Crew’ added three more to their National League leading home run total.
Jett Bandy hit a towering two-run home run in the sixth. Travis Shaw had Milwaukee’s first home run of the night. It was a three-run shot. Eric Thames continues to lead the league in long balls. He also bumped his batting average up to a team high .415 with another home run Thursday night.
Zach Davies earned the win with a 5 1/3 innings performance. He allowed four earned runs and scattered eight hits. Game two against St.Louis is slated for 7:10 tonight.
