Plans by the City of Algoma for improvements of the wastewater treatment and sanitation facility continue to move ahead. The city council is in the process of approving financing to get clean water funds from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Administrator Jeff Wiswell explains the how the cost of the projects will be defrayed.
Wiswell says that the upgrade in the wastewater treatment plant will allow the city of Algoma economic development and potential growth in housing with a state of the art facility. The actual hardware, installation, and construction will occur in the next two to four months, according to Wiswell.
