Door County Administrator Ken Pabich calls three actions approved by the board earlier this week another example of its commitment to protecting the environment and groundwater resources. The Door County Board formally accepted $40,000 in grants for two different programs, one that would evaluate at the mill pond at Forestville Dam County Park and another aimed at promoting wetlands management and enhancement. Pabich says introducing new conservationist Erin Hanson was another sign of what the county has down to align its environmental efforts with its core values and strategic vision.
The Door County Board also asked the state legislature through a resolution it approved to seek more funding to support its Soil and Water Conservation Department so local efforts would not go wasted.
