Budget-minded used car buyers may find it a bit more challenging to find a pre-owned vehicle this spring when trading in their old car or truck. A combination of fewer older model vehicles as a result of the recession of 2008 and a lack of new car sales has caused a shortage nationally according to some automotive consultants. Jim Olson, owner of the three Jim Olson car dealerships in Sturgeon Bay says the demand is always high but the quality of trade-ins locally is really good.
According to the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), retail used car sales were up 4.2 percent last year with many industry experts anticipating another strong year in 2017.
