Washington Island School District is preparing its students for its annual spring voyage. The spring voyage, an experiential learning experience for the entire school, will turn its focus to sustainable living by looking at how earthworms have a positive impact on the soil and introduce students to gardening. Superintendent Mati Palm-Leis says this is another opportunity for its students to interact with each other, whether they are in kindergarten or a graduating senior.
In addition to the spring voyage, the Washington Island School District has also been focusing on its upcoming referendum vote, which will ask residents to allow it to exceed its revenue limit by $1.1 million combined over the next two school years.
