As House of Representative Republicans work to agree on the new proposed healthcare plan, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin says she is concerned the new legislation could harm individuals struggling with an opioid use disorder. Senator Baldwin says repealing the Affordable Care Act could strip health care coverage from 2.8 million Americans suffering from a substance use disorder. In an interview with DoorCountyDailyNews.com last week, Baldwin shared her ideas of what she would like to see done.
Baldwin says assistance to those who cannot afford their premiums and protection of insurance abuses. Prescription drug costs and insurance deductibles are also issues to be addressed, according to Baldwin. House Republicans released their new healthcare to dismantle the current Obamacare plan earlier this month.
