A chance to move forward is what the Friends of the Sturgeon Bay Public Waterfront would like to do with Mayor Thad Birmingham if given the chance to speak with him. A second mediation session between the city of Sturgeon Bay, the Friends group, and hotel developer Bob Papke was canceled last week after a compromise could not be reached. When asked by DoorCountyDailyNews.com what he would say to the mayor if given the opportunity, Dan Collins said he would ask the floor be opened up for comment to the community.
Hans Christian said he believes the mayor still has time to right his legacy.
The Friends of the Sturgeon Bay Public Waterfront, the city of Sturgeon Bay, and Papke are all waiting on the Department of Natural Resources to issue their determination of an ordinary high water mark for the disputed parcel on the west side.
