Cyber security is more important than ever in protecting your personal data. The WikiLeaks dump of stolen documents last week showed that the CIA might be able to break into smartphones and computer networks. Sturgeon Bay Police Digital Forensic Officer Chad Mielke says most people are not targets of intelligence agencies but it is a good reminder to stay vigilant in upgrading and protecting your mobile devices.
Mielke says for safety it is always a best practice to layer your security with a good, sound anti-virus program, a firewall, and backups. It is also important to secure your wireless services and use strong passwords to prevent hacking of your online accounts, according to Mielke.
