Some roads less traveled in Wisconsin may not look the same in the next few years. Substantial budget cuts in the state government and higher construction costs have caused smaller communities to convert roads with blacktop to gravel roads. Door County Highway Department Commissioner John Kolodziej says, fortunately, Door County does not have to resort to that drastic action.
Kolodziej says the commitment by the Door County Board has allowed the roads to be funded properly and remain in relatively good condition.
