Winter weather, not a lawsuit, will delay some of the work slated for the Egg Harbor Library and Community Center. Concrete was expected to be poured for the estimated $6 million project late last week, but was delayed due to cold temperatures. Village Administrator Ryan Heise says despite the temporary work stoppage, the new building would not be possible without its generous donors.
The village of Egg Harbor will, however, have to keep its portion of building costs to a million dollars due to a lawsuit brought against it by a group of full-time and part-time residents. The group is charging the village with not agreeing to a 2008 ordinance tying it to a spending limit without a referendum.
