Progress is being made on meetings to discuss the future of Sturgeon Bay’s west side. No additional details were given, but Dan Collins from the Friends of the Sturgeon Bay Public Waterfront told DoorCountyDailyNews.com that the city, the group, and hotel developer Bob Papke have set a schedule for meetings after Judge Raymond Huber signed his official written ruling this week. Judge Huber ruled that parcel 92 is in the public trust and cannot be sold for private development. Collins hopes the discussions help the community move forward.
The Friends of the Sturgeon Bay Public Waterfront have filed a Petition for Declaratory Ruling for an ordinary high water mark determination on parcel 92 in hopes to set a line for where a hotel or other development could be built.
