A Baileys Harbor home is considered a total loss after a wind-aided fire ripped through the home Wednesday evening. Crews reported to the scene along Kangaroo Lake at approximately 6:17 p.m. The unoccupied home is considered to be a complete loss after members of the Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Sister Bay-Liberty Grove, Jacksonport, and Gibraltar fire departments provided support for Baileys Harbor. Baileys Harbor Assistant Fire Chief Eric Peil says the wind provided a challenge, but also relief for other nearby structures.
Peil says the scene was cleared just before 3 a.m. Thursday morning. Crews were back on the scene investigating the blaze later in the morning to determine a cause of the fire.
