The City of Algoma has a vacancy to fill on the common council after James Barlow resigned his position as alderperson for District 3. Mayor Wayne Schmidt says Barlow is leaving the area to be by his mother in Oshkosh and that the appointed position will serve a term until April of 2018.
Interested parties have until April 3 to send a letter of interest for the position. The newly appointed candidate will be sworn into office at the Tuesday, April 18 council meeting.
