For the 36th straight year, Southern Door 5th graders were at the center of a huge day to support those suffering from cerebral palsy. Students raised $51,360 for Cerebral Palsy through a number of different efforts, ranging from writing letters and selling pies to participating in a local television broadcast. Southern Door Elementary School principal Laurie Connell says it is always a very proud day for her.
In the 36 years Southern Door students have participated in this service learning project, over $800,000 has been raised to support cerebral palsy.
