The town of Gibraltar hopes a newly expanded Fish Creek Beach will be able to greet residents and visitors alike once summer comes. Last month, town officials and residents walked the site of 4108 Main Street to discuss future plans for the beach. While creating permanent bathhouse space is one of the aesthetic changes that were discussed, the town must first have the property rezoned and have different variances approved so additional work can be done. Supervisor Brian Hackbarth says the goal is to have one contiguous beach for people to enjoy.
The property was purchased by the town of Gibraltar last August for $1.4 million after getting approval to do so during a special meeting of electors.
