The fluctuating temperatures in recent weeks have been not good for human or bovine populations. After a couple days near 0 degrees with the windchill, the National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures to hit as high as 51 on Monday. That is bad news for Haberli Farms owner and DoorCountyDailyNews.com Ag Advisory Board member Mark Haberli, who says he has had to take extra precautions to make sure his herd does not get sick and force him to use antibiotics.
Haberli says he has had cows with pneumonia in facilities that never experienced such issues in the nine years he has owned the farm.
