The city of Sturgeon Bay is turning to its residents and visitors for help on understanding current bicycle conditions in the area it could potentially improve. The survey is part of the city’s reapplication to be considered as a Bicycle Friendly Community, which it has been a bronze level member of since 2013. City engineer Chad Shefchik says the data collected will help see if the improvements made over the last four years have been beneficial and if some other changes made have hurt bicycling in the area.
Shefchik says improvements to bicycle lanes throughout the city and its efforts to help extend the Ahnapee State Trail have played a role in crafting Sturgeon Bay’s master plan over the next few years.
