Door County Land Trust Executive Director Tom Clay is confident that nature will find a way despite the weather being anything but normal. After near record highs at the end of February, snow and cold has returned before another possible warm-up next week. Clay believes things will hopefully stay relatively normal for plants and animals despite the constant changes in the forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Green Bay area were as much as ten degrees above normal in February. The area’s meteorological winter, which concluded February 28, was the fifth warmest on record and the eleventh wettest.
