Andrew Peter Lischka, age 36, formerly of Kewaunee, passed away on February 1, 2017 at the Bay Pines V.A. Medical Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. He was the youngest child of Tony J. and Jane (Fiala) Lischka born of January 1, 1981 in Kewaunee, WI. He was known to the family as Andy, but to his military friends as Drew. He graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1999 and joined the U.S. Army in June 1999. After basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC he went to Ft. Benning, GA to attend Airborne School. He was then stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC where he was in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged in 2003. Andy was a modest man with a dream of a cabin up North in the quiet, overlooking a lake. He was proud of his military career and his many jumps and accomplishments, but never boasted about it.
Survivors include his parents; his siblings: Renee (Glenn) Reckelberg; Tony III (Lisa) Lischka; Christopher (Laurie) Lischka; Kari (Troy) Konop; three nieces: Katelyn Buresh; Kailey, Alisyn Lischka; two nephews: Justin Lischka and Hunter Konop. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother: Floretta Lischka; God Father: Steve Lischka; God Mother: Diane Haszel; his good friends: Ryan and Mary Lou Franson and his many friends in Michigan and Florida. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Anton Lischka; his maternal grandparents: John and Ruby Fiala.
Friends may call at St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4 until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury. A funeral lunch will follow in the church hall.
Andy, you are our Angel in Heaven. Keep us safe until we meet again.
