With springtime approaching, many are looking forward to revitalizing their lawn after the long winter months. However, pests such as the European Chafer grub may have other ideas. A release from the University of Wisconsin Extension Office says that these recent arrivals to Door County can be very harmful to your lawn. UW Extension Agriculture Agent Annie Deutsch says recognizing this invader is key to treatment.
The grub is most active between March and May during the thawing stages and also feeds heavily from August to November. For more information on the European Chafer, click this link to the UW Extension page.
