With the state budget addressing key educational issues, area residents are invited to a listening session at the Southern Door High School on Thursday evening. First Representative Joel Kitchens will be on hand and Southern Door School Superintendent Patti Vickman says it is a great opportunity for people to voice their opinion and any concerns they may have regarding the state budget and education.
Kitchens previously held listening sessions in Sturgeon Bay and Kewaunee this last Monday. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Governor Scott Walker’s budget plan would put $509 million more into a relatively new form of school aid that would not account for the poverty of school districts or their students.
