The American Legion Post 262 in Luxemburg is having a special presentation Monday night for the families of the three fallen soldiers from the community that were killed in the Iraq War. A 94-year old World War II veteran from Pennsylvania painted portraits of Jesse Thiry, Dean Opicka and Luke Zimmerman who were all Luxemburg-Casco graduates that died serving our country fighting the war on terror. American Legion Commander Dennis Langteau says it will be a special night of remembrance for family and friends receiving these paintings done by an accomplished artist.
Yawor, the artist of the portraits will not be present so American Legion Post 65 Commander Paul Kahr from Nekoosa will do the presentation, according to Langteau. The oil paintings will be draped with an American flag prior to the presentation that will be held next Monday night at the Luxemburg Village Hall beginning at 6 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
