The popularity of Facebook Live is causing concerns in the courtroom around the country. Last week, a request was made and later withdrew in the circuit court of Door County to stream video live during the waterfront trial in Door County. Branch 2 Circuit Court Judge David Weber says he is not a fan of the idea because the first amendment right must be balanced with two concerns.
Weber says in some cases witness are sequestered so they are not influenced by prior testimony, but with more social media and live streaming video out there, the challenge to oversee a fair and impartial trial becomes greater.
