The Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse is the next topic in a series of presentations on Saturdays in February focusing on the county’s history. Mike Kostka, Jim Schaller, and Dr. Robin Nelson will be the main speakers during the presentation as members of Kewaunee’s lighthouse preservation committee. In the midst of $300,000-plus campaign to restore the lighthouse, Nelson told DoorCountyDailyNews.com earlier this year how the structure could tie together the rest of Kewaunee.
All February history presentations will be held at the Kewaunee County Historical Society Center on Ellis Street in Kewaunee beginning at 1 p.m Saturday. Upcoming topics in the series include a look back at local Belgians that served during the Civil War and the 150th anniversary of St. John Lutheran Church.
