Door County’s Board of Health and Land Conservation Committee will host a joint session on Monday to address potential issues surrounding concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). The meeting follows a letter sent in November by the Door County Soil and Water Department to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources regarding the permit request of S&S Ag Enterprises in Sturgeon Bay. Board of Health chairperson Helen Bacon says the meeting is to get the information needed to make sound decisions on the topic moving forward.
Officials from the county’s soil and water conservation and health departments are expected to speak during the joint session. Monday’s meeting will take place inside the Council Chambers at the Door County Government Building beginning at 4 p.m.
