The city of Algoma is preparing for an influx of visitors this summer when Farm Technology Days takes place just west of its downtown. Church groups are lining up to volunteer with food service while the city’s emergency services personnel are expected to be on site for the three-day event. Mayor Wayne Schmidt says having Farm Technology Days so close by gives Algoma an opportunity to show itself off to the rest of the state.
Schmidt says the only hiccup the city has had since the event’s announcement was the development of a new hotel, which has been in a standstill over the last few months despite some recent encouraging conversations with developers. Farm Technology Days will take place at Ebert Enterprises July 11 to 13.
