One of the two new designs of specialty license plates being offered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) starting today features Whitetails Unlimited. State Representative Joel Kitchens authored the bill creating the new plate back in March of last year. Program Services Director at Whitetails Unlimited Russ Austad, who helped make the plate a reality, says Whitetails is excited and feels fortunate that it happened.
The plan is to expand the specialty license plate program to other states, as Whitetails Unlimited has over 100,000 members in 24 states, according to Austad. Whitetails Unlimited was founded in 1982 and continues to run its world headquarters in Sturgeon Bay.
