Arline L. Oleson, 89, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Monday morning, January 30, 2017.
She was born April 23, 1927 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Robert and Nellie Pearl (Walker) Stephenson and lived her entire life in Door County. Arline graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Emery E. “Ole” Oleson on December 17, 1947 in Dubuque, IA. Together, they built, owned and operated Emery Oleson Realty and Ole’s Mini Storage (for nearly 20 years), both in Sturgeon Bay. Above all, she took wonderful care of her family and home. Arline was a member of Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church. She was an avid card player who played regularly with the local bridge club in Sturgeon Bay.
Arline is survived by her husband, Emery, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage; two sons, Michael (Peggy) Oleson of Marblehead, MA and Robert (Carol) Oleson of Rothschild, WI; six grandchildren, Derek, Jeremy, Scott, and Melody and Tim and Christie; and three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Alexander, and Theodore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Milton, Kenneth, Lansing, Archie, Ralph, Allan, and Douglas, and four sisters, Goldie, Sylvia, Vivian, and Lillian.
Arline’s life will be honored with a funeral service held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church with Pastor David Leistra officiating. Arline will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church, Friday afternoon, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service.
