Mark George Hinesh, age 71 of Kewaunee succumbed to Pancreatic cancer and agent orange on Monday January 23, 2017. He was born on April 20, 1945 to the late Arthur and Mildred (Haszel) Hinesh at Kewaunee, WI and was raised on the Hinesh Carlton Town Hall farm.
He graduated Kewaunee High School and graduated from St. Norbert College in 1967 with high honors with a business administration degree and a U. S. Army commission of 2nd Lieutenant. He served three years in Vietnam and Cambodia as a Captain in the Green Berets. He was medivaced home seriously ill in 1971. Later he attended NWTC in Green Bay earning a degree in Police Science. He served six Kewaunee County Sheriffs, including one term as under sheriff. He served many years as a Social Security representative and devoted many years to the United States Army Civil Service and Reserves. Mark spent much time in Vietnam supporting schools, orphanages and isolated villages. These care giving incidents he brought home with him and devoted much caregiving, emotional and financial support to those in need of his services. He fought the effects of his wartime service for over forty years and did his best to help all who knew him.
Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law: Marie and Dale Ihlenfeldt, DePere, WI; one sister-in-law: Sue Ann Hinesh, Two Rivers and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Donald Arthur and Robert Hinesh.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 27 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. James Dillenberg at 11:00 a.m. followed by Military Rites. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norman
