The Southern Door Eagles controlled their own destiny and refused to let tiebreakers be considered as they beat Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol 34-27 on 104.1 WRLU.
After Southern Door’s Mason Davis opened things up with an 11-8 win over the Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol’s Trevor Wilke, the two squads traded forfeits all the way to 132 pounds when Ezra Haight squeaked out a hard fought victory over the Eagles Ben Hoida. River Pawelski was bumped up a weight class and earned a major decision before Jared Conard won a close match over Bruce Anschutz 3-2. Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol won two in a row as well, with Liam Ostrand-Kolstad with a 13-6 victory over Raul Lopez and Nathaniel Hendrickson pinning Hunter Falish in 2:30. Michael Bertrand, wrestling up a weight class at 170, put the match and the championship on ice with a 54-second pin of Collin Mirkes. Caden Kacmaryanski and Luke Brinkman would cap off the evening with victories for the host Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol.
