The Green Bay Packers hope to find themselves in Atlanta a week from today after the Falcons blew away the Seattle Seahawks 36-20 matchup, but they have to take care of their own business first.
The Packers face the NFC East champion and number 1 seeded Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium this afternoon at 3:40 p.m. for a berth to the conference championship game next week. The Cowboys had last week off due to a bye while many starters rested in Week 17 during a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers have been in win-now mode for seven weeks, dispatching the Giants last Sunday 38-13.
The Packers are looking for payback after the Cowboys after rooking phenom Ezekiel Elliot ran all over the place, running for over 160 yards in a 30-16 romp. The defeat started a streak where the Packers lost five of six, with a matchup against the Chicago Bears their own glimmer of success.
INTERESTING FACT: The Packers are looking for their first playoff win in the state of Texas since Bart Starr led the team to 34-27 victory in 1967 for a NFL championship. However, the Packers are undefeated at the place dubbed “Jerry’s World,” winning 37-36 in their lone contest against the Cowboys in 2013 and defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers there in Super Bowl 45.
