A new art exhibit at the Miller Art Museum will be open to the public on January 21st, 2017. This new exhibit is labeled as “Prints Matter, Master Mimics” which is a portfolio of original prints reflecting the influence of a master work of art from any era. Museum Curator Deborah Rosenthal explains about the artist who was inspired to create this portfolio consisting of work from other artists across the nation.
22 artists across 7 different states have come together to participate within this portfolio. According to Will Greider, the artist who inspired the portfolio, “Print makers have had a long history of reinventing and paying homage to images and artists of the past.” He goes on to elaborate that this portfolio is significant because it represents the history of master artists and their images that have continued to inspire artists today. The exhibit will be open and free to the public until February 28th, 2017.
