College basketball fans know the best feeling during the season comes within the first two months of the new calendar year leading up to the madness that is the NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament. Reason being so is that all teams are facing off against in-conference opponents.
The BIG 10 conference currently has 3 top 25 teams amongst its ranks. They are #13 Wisconsin, #20 Purdue, and #25 Indiana. Today we get to see the #13 team in the nation take on #20 as the Badgers travel to Indiana for a showdown with the Boilermakers.
Currently, the Badgers sit atop the conference however both of these teams sport similar records and have matching superstars that can take over a game at a moments notice. Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan has played very strongly averaging over 18.8 points per game along with 12.9 rebounds per game over the course of 31 minutes of playing time. He has been their foundation as to how they find themselves in the #20 position that they currently hold.
The Badgers have a bit of a different lineup and have had multiple players beginning to fire on all cylinders. Bronson Koenig, Nigel Hayes, and Ethan Happ have been stellar thus far and look to lead a supporting cast including youngsters Zak Showalter, Khalil Iverson, Vitto Brown, and D’Mitrik Trice hoping to earn their 10th straight victory while remaining undefeated within the conference.
