Before the holiday break, the Gibraltar Vikings went 5-2 in the month of December earning a mix of both in-conference and non-conference victories. Their last in-conference loss came on the road to Southern Door on December 20th 40-28. However they did gain some momentum back with a 70-41 victory over Crivitz. Sheridan Ash led the Vikings in scoring with 21, while Peyton Pluff contributed 17 and Riley Haleen 12. Entering tonight, they are preparing for a very different matchup with the Clippers.
Sturgeon Bay enters this contest looking to turn their season around as they only have accumulated one win on the season which came back on December 20th with their victory over Sevastopol. They went on to lose to Chilton on December 29th 62-20 and will be hungry for a victory tonight.
One thing that I will be keeping an eye on tonight is how both teams play within the first couple minutes of tip-off. The holiday break in play can either have a good or bad effect on any team and after talking with Head Coach Josh Kropuenske, he sounded pretty confident about his team being “game ready” despite the fact that Sturgeon Bay played last week and should have the early advantage. Tip off is slated for 7:30 tonight.
We will have a post-game report from Fish Creek tonight upon completion of this game, and will also be broadcasting the Boys game tomorrow night as they welcome Southern Door to Fish Creek a game that can be heard LIVE on 105.1 More FM.
