A blossoming home on 15th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay is showing less can actually mean more to a homeowner and the environment. In 2015, architect Virge Temme was challenged to design a small, affordable home that could be expanded over time and was environmentally friendly. Work started on the SAGE (small, affordable, green, expandable) home in early November and Temme says early signs show that it is right on track to be on budget and LEED-Platinum rated.
Ideas for the SAGE home were gathered from a focus group consisting of people ranging from their mid 20s to their 70s. The 1,030-square foot house expects to be move-in ready by May.
