The Door County Department of Children and Families is reaching out to parents and caregivers raising children from traumatic backgrounds through a series of classes. The free series with span five weeks beginning January 21 will help adults learn about the effects of traumatic stress on a child and the skills to help them cope. McKenzie Erickson from Door County Human Services says the course provides important help to those who are currently struggling in their own situation.
The sessions include lunch and dinner and free childcare is also provided. You must register by January 6, and we have information on how to do just that posted online with this story.
