Former Kewaunee mayor John Blaha is looking to get back into city government as a member of its council. Blaha and incumbent Arthur Schiller have taken out nomination papers to run for the city’s 1st aldermanic district. No one currently is in the running for Kewaunee’s 2nd aldermanic district after incumbent Jeff Dworak returned his Declaration for Non-Candidacy. Incumbents John Griffith and David Kuehl have taken out nomination papers for their seats in the 3rd and 4th aldermanic districts respectively.
In Sturgeon Bay, Jerry Stults and Will Gregory have filed their papers for non-candidacy in 2017, while Dan Wiegand (District 1), Joe McMahon (District 7), Laurel Hauser (District 7) and David Ward (District 3) have turned in their nomination papers.
In Algoma, only Bruce Charles and Lee Dachelet have turned in their nomination papers.
Potential candidates have until 5 p.m. on January 3 to file the necessary paperwork to be on the ballot.
