Algoma girls basketball has by far the toughest schedule of any Packerland Conference team. Playing Division 1 teams for their non-conference slate is nothing new for the Wolves. Coach Mark Zastrow has long believed that playing bigger and better programs will only raise the level of play from his team. His philosophy has certainly proved to be true.
On Tuesday night the Wolves lost to Ashwaubenon 38-27. Algoma was held to just 11 first half points and trailed by nine at the break. Lucy Wiese led Algoma with eight points and Alli Spitzer poured in seven points in the loss.
