More young men turned to Boy Scouting in 2016 over the last year in northeast Wisconsin. Scouting numbers in Bay-Lakes Council’s Voyageur District, which covers Brown, Door, and Kewaunee Counties, grew 1 percent over 2015 to 3,151 scouts. The number of Eagle Scouts also rose in 2016, with over 70 boys earning the highest honor a Boy Scout can achieve. Voyageur Senior District Executive Christopher O’Brien hopes to continue that trend in the coming year.
Work also continues on Bay-Lakes Council’s Imagine 2024, a 10-year strategic plan focusing on the future of its organization in areas such as membership, fundraising, and programming.
