The Luxemburg-Casco Lady Spartans used relentless defensive pressure and balanced scoring to upend the Southern Door Eagles 69-55 in a non-conference basketball game Thursday night. The Spartans and Eagles battled in a see-saw affair as the lead changed hands six times in the early going. The game turned in the last three minutes of the half as the L-C opened up an eleven-point lead with a three- point shot by Mary Cravillion right before intermission.
The Spartans controlled the second half as the Eagles could not get any closer than eight points. Cassie Schiltz, Jenna Jorgenson and Cravillion finished with 18 points for Luxemburg-Casco. Megan Pavlik scored 16 points to pace the Eagles. The Spartans will now travel to Fort Atkinson for a holiday tournament next week.
The next Spartan basketball broadcast game that can be heard on WBDK and streamed on DoorCountyDailyNews.com will be January 10 as the boys host Little Chute. Matt Piesler and Paul Schmitt will have the call starting at 7:00pm with the pregame show and tip-off at 7:15pm.
