A Packers win coupled with losses by the Vikings and Lions put Green Bay back in the driver’s seat in the NFC North. Green Bay again controls its own destiny following a 30-27 win at ice cold Soldier Field Sunday. The Packers are still a game behind Detroit but will own the tie-breaker (head-to-head) if they can win out.
Aaron Rodgers completed 19 of 31 passes but none more important than the last one. Rodgers connected with Jordy Nelson on a 60-plus yard bomb to place the Packers safely in field goal range for the game winner from Mason Crosby.
It was a monumental day for Ty Montgomery running the ball. The former wide receiver gained 162 yards rushing on just 16 carries and two touchdowns. Christine Michael added 45 yards on four carries and added a touchdown too.
The Packers will next host Minnesota Saturday for a noon kickoff on Christmas Eve.
