Diane Lynn Jome, 66, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital on December 16, 2016. She was born September 3, 1950 in Sturgeon Bay to Franklin and Agnes (Roble) Jome.
Diane graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh with a B.A. in elementary education. She taught her whole career (34 years) in the elementary schools of Sturgeon Bay.
Diane was a very active member of Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church where she served on the church council as secretary, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Quilters Group and the Women’s Group. She also volunteered at the Family Center of Door County.
Diane was an excellent cook and baker and for several years running won numerous blue ribbons at the Door County Fair. Diane had a very generous nature, loved her family, and was a good friend and neighbor to many.
Survivors include her brother Bob (Ruth) Jome, Manitowoc; a sister Karen Jome, Sturgeon Bay; a niece Kirsten Robley and her children, Corbin, Aiden, Idella and Max; a nephew Eric (Janine) Jome and their son Adam; cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Tanum Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
