According to the National Retail Federation, 40 percent of the season’s sales happen in the ten days leading up to Christmas, leaving some panicky shoppers with impulse buys and blown budgets. Retail analytics firm ShopperTrak even shows the Saturday before Christmas as being even busier than Black Friday according to the Wall Street Journal. Gay Pustaver from Money Management Counselors says last-minute shoppers need to keep their cool as they head into the aisles.
Pustaver also suggests consumers keep track of their purchases this year and use that to form a plan for next year based on what went right and wrong during this season.
