The line-up for this winter’s Speakers Series at the Door County Maritime Museum is set to give guests a glimpse of history during its four presentations. Created as an educational way to get people out of the house during the winter months, the free DCMM Speaker Series has covered a wide range of topics with back stories to the museum exhibits it houses and the industry that passes by its doors every day. Event coordinator Jon Gast says the Speaker Series has been well-received.
The Speaker Series kicks off tonight with former Executive Director Bob Desh discussing the loss of the “Palace Steamer” Niagara beginning at 7 p.m. If you cannot attend tonight’s event, the Speaker Series will take place on the first Thursday of the month in January, February, and March. Future topics include the Selvick Tugs and the tall ship Baltimore.
