The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced on Monday maintenance work for the Michigan Street Bridge. Maintenance crews will be replacing a radar magnetron and conducting camera maintenance between 9:00 am and noon on Monday December 12th. Northeast Bridge Maintenance Engineer Dale Weber explains why these unscheduled repairs are occurring.
Weber says that the dome camera in need of repair on the bridge “goes out” from time to time. These cameras usually last from 5-10 years however The Department Transportation monitors them and usually schedules a maintenance checkup during the spring every year to tend to them and ensure they are functioning properly.
