The City of Sturgeon Bay approved the seeking of state grant funding to begin to help offset the cost of improvements for Bradley Lake, more commonly called Little Lake, in Sturgeon Bay. Sturgeon Bay Municipal Services Director Bob Bordeau told the common council that plans are possible to connect the lake back to the bay if two grants are received. Phase I of the Little Lake restoration started in 2009 and Roger Anderson, co-chair of the environmental committee with the Sturgeon Bay Rotary Club shares the next big phase of the project.
Phase I of the project was the engineered wetland for Little Lake and volunteers planted 90 trees and shrubs last month. Little Lake is located by Sunset Park off of Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
