Speed too fast for conditions is to blame for a Monday morning crash on the Bayview Bridge that sent five people to the hospital. At 7:37 a.m., units from the Sturgeon Bay Fire and Police Departments reported to the scene after 51-year-old Kathryn Nichols of Sturgeon Bay lost control of her vehicle before colliding with the sidewall on the bridge and a minivan driven by 40-year-old Craig Kiekhaefer, also of Sturgeon Bay. According to the accident report, the officer noted the highway conditions to be “snow, ice, or wet,” though no exact cause is known. The current condition of the five people involved in the crash is unknown.
