November tied July as the most deadly month on the Wisconsin roads this year. 62 people were killed in traffic crashes last month, according to preliminary statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). Traffic fatalities last month were 13 more than November 2015. Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski says the milder weather might have contributed to more and faster driving on the roads. With shorter daylight hours, Joski gives a reminder to drivers at night on the use of hi-beam lights.
Joski says it is perfectly okay to flash your lights at an oncoming traffic if they fail to dim their bright lights. In Wisconsin, five people died in crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday period from last Wednesday evening to midnight on Sunday.
